List of Tricky Shots and Edits
Silhouette - The Silhouette is the climatic moment in our scene, but we will need various equipment in order to make this scene work: Powerful work lights to create the power source we need, alien mask to shape the silhouette and white shower curtains to defuse the light. Without this specific equipment we wouldn't be able to achieve the affect we want.
We now have the equipment needed and have tested to make sure this is doable.
Making the room cold - We are wanting to make the room cold enough so that you can see Brandon's breath to create a very dark atmosphere but we feel that will be tricky to get the room that cold. This would be difficult to do, the only way we would be able to pull it off would be with vapor but the location we are filming is someone else's house so it would be unlikely for us to be able to do this effect.
Focus Pull - With the cameras we are using we won't be able to manually focus pull due to the fact that these aren't DLSR cameras. To do this focus pull we would have to do this with visual effects in editing by blurring the image and making it clear again. If this effect doesn't work we won't use it.
Clear Audio - One thing I have noticed in the previous groups work that were shown to us is that the audio isn't clear and has white noise. I personally hate that so we will edit the audio after putting the clips together so we can remove the white noise and boost the audio of the actors speaking in our scenes in audacity.
I have used audacity before and it does work but to make it better we won't be using the internal microphone in the camera but have an external microphone connected to the camera so the microphone will be closer to the subject to capture the audio while the camera is positioned elsewhere.
We will also test with a lapel mic on the subject at the same time so we have multiple audio sources to choose from for the best possible audio. To sync the lapel mic audio with the camera we will use a directors clapboard to easily sync the two.
