Generic Conventions Sci-fi Films

For me personally, a sci-fi film is something that goes beyond what is possible to do in our time or in the past. Its about bending science. Its also about undertones and social behaviors. How does a government react to an alien world? How do two alien species who have been at war for a long time settle a truce? Interplanetary travel is another interesting thing.
Scifi flilms usually include
  • Being set in the future to make it more beleiveable that is might happen even though it is not possible at the moment.
  • The settings are set very creatively for example other worlds in space might be created to show that it is beyond our imagination
  • The storyline most of the time includes war between alien species and the human species this is done so that the audience get into it and question "what if this happens in the future" the more question the audinece has about the film more likely they are going to watch it.
  • robborts and technolody is usually more advanced in sci-fi films for example roberts will do larger tasks for us and flying cars, anything that is not imagined in this era.
